History

The company was founded on 01.07.1966 by Mr. Robert Böll, a Mechanical Engineer, with the company’s offices in Mr.Böll’s apartment in Dürmentingen in Bussenstraße, while the manufacturing was located in Unlingen.

Move into Dürmentingen in Buchauer Straße 1. Our longest serving employee remembers: “When I was hired by Robert Böll on 01.11.1968, a technical drawer and an apprentice were the company’s only employees.” The company developed specialised machines, such as, for example "Osterhasenmaschine" [Easter-bunny machine], used to produce chocolate Easter-bunnies and Santa Clauses. In addition to that, we also developed a "Rauchstockhalter" [smoke bar holder], on which sausages were hung before being placed in the smoke chamber. A "Landjägermaschine" [Machine for making spicy sausages], which gave the manually-produced spicy sausages a set shape, was in our product range of machines. The "Tigerkuttermesser" [Tiger Cutter Knife] was very popular among butchers.

All patents and license contracts relating to cable cutters were acquired from the company Baudat AG (Chur in Switzerland), which had gone into liquidation. The types in question were the M 1, K 2, K 3 and K 4. The production of these tools was the foundation on which the rapid development of the company was built.

1978

As a consequence of the company’s success, the premises at Buchauer Straße 1 had become too small and work had to be moved out into the yard when large job contracts were being worked on. In response to this, a plot of land was purchased at Alte Poststraße 20 in 1978 and a new production facility was constructed there.

The new office building is moved into. Office and production hall I in Alte Poststraße 20. In order to make full use of this building, further product areas to become involved in were looked at such as, for example, the manufacturing of steel formworks, length gauges or other specialised tools.

1980

Expansion of the cable cutter product range with the addition of the 3 E-Type and hydraulic shears. In order to increase the level of awareness on the market for the company’s products, the company begins to present its products regularly at the International Hardware Fair in Cologne from 1980 onwards.

The introduction of the cable cutter SM 38/45 with pivoting blade saw a new type of shears added to the product range. The SMS 10 and SMS 13 can be used either as hydraulic cable cutters or as a shroud shears on sailing boats.

The launch of the plate puncher LS 5 saw the company enter into a new market segment. The hydraulic plate puncher can be operated using hand, foot or electric pumps.

1989

As a result of the constant additions being made to the product range, the existing production space was no longer sufficient and so was doubled with the building of hall II.
